THE STATE SHE'S IN by Lesley Wheeler

THE STATE SHE'S IN by Lesley Wheeler

Lesley Wheeler’s fifth poetry collection, The State She’s In, is now available from Tinderbox Editions.

According to Diane Seuss, “Wheeler’s research, her feral witchery, her poems themselves, are an answer, if not the antidote, to the state we’re in.” Lisa Lewis, author of Taxonomy of the Missing, praised the collection’s humor and exuberant use of form, citing a spell for ridding oneself of certain politicians and a feminist bingo card.

Wheeler's poem “L” first appeared in the Spring 2018 issue.

Lesley Wheeler has published five collections of poetry. Her novel, Unbecoming, is forthcoming from Aqueduct Press in May 2020. Her poems and essays have been featured in the Gettysburg Review, Crab Orchard Review, the Common, Ecotone, and Massachusetts Review. She is poetry editor of Shenandoah and lives in Lexington, Virginia.
